The Stack is Macon’s newest burger restaurant, where
customers can, “Pile it on.” Ray Yarbrough, is the owner of
The Stack, a novel restaurant of his own creation.
He is a Maconite who graduated from Stratford Academy,
and is the Macon franchise owner of Shane’s Rib Shack
and Moe’s Southwest Grill, both located on Vineville
Avenue.
With extensive experience owning and running two
restaurants, and a love for food, Ray has had a special
desire to start a new restaurant of his own. He has wanted
to start a burger restaurant for some time, and after
researching a concept he found out west, he came up with
his own idea for a burger restaurant. Ray said, “You can
cook and serve a burger; it’s no big deal. But, what makes
a great burger is both the flavor of the meat, and what you
add to it.” At Ray’s new restaurant, The Stack, he is taking
the concept of building a burger to the next level.
The Stack will offer four different proteins to choose from,
each freshly made in house with Ray’s own recipe. These
four proteins include beef (1/3 pound or 1/2 pound), turkey,
chicken (grilled or fried), and veggie. Burger toppings are
high quality grade, and always fresh. Rays said, “Between
the protein choices, and many the toppings, sauces, and
other additions, 400,000 combinations of burgers can be
constructed.”
The Stack is located at 4420 Forsyth Road, where Bia’s
Pizza once was located, and is open from 11 a.m. to
9 p.m.
The restaurant is decorated in red and blue, the STP
colors, and has a retro diner feel that is family and kid
friendly.
Once seated by a host, restaurant diners will find a
clipboard menu at their table. The Stack clipboard menu
has two halves. The bottom half of the clipboard is a set
menu of signature burgers and sandwiches that are
already put together; it will also include starter items, a
kids menu, and beverages. The top half of the clipboard
is a tear-off menu for diners to build their own mouth-
watering Stack. Diners start with their choice of protein,
whether it is on a bun or in a bowl. Then, diners will
experience the concept of The Stack, through choosing the
toppings. They will choose from 10 cheeses, 18 toppings,
10 premium toppings, and 18 sauces. A person can eat
at The Stack everyday, and have a different burger at every
meal.
For families and kids, The Stack has a safe glass-wall
game room for children to play. Therefore, parents will be
able to see their children playing, regardless of where they
are seated in the restaurant. Ray said, I have two children,
ages six years and four years. It’s nice to have something
available for kids to enjoy, so that parents can catch their
breath after a long day.”
Ray is growing Macon one restaurant at a time.
Eventually, Ray’s dream is to have The Stack become a
franchise of his own. Come to The Stack and, “Pile It On
Baby.”
